The week is nearly over but it’s safe to say you deserve a good cup of Joe. Treat yourself with a local delicacy by visiting a few artisan coffee roasteries in Oakland.

Red Bay Coffee Public Roastery

The renowned artist, successful food entrepreneur and owner of Red Bay Coffee Public Roastery, Keba Konte, roots his belief that coffee production is a vehicle of diversity, social and economic restoration, entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability. This belief has allowed people from every walk of life to create high-quality coffee that’s both sustainable and unifying. Red Bay offers a public roastery, coffee bar, and garden. When you visit you’ll have a chance to experience the roasting process in person, learn from coffee experts, and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee in the garden. If you need a bit of inspiration in your cup and you happen to be in the Fruitvale neighborhood, this might be the place for you. Located at 3098 E 10th Street, Oakland.

Café Santana Roasting Company

Dedicated to providing exceptionally well-prepared coffee and great service is Café Santana Roasting Company. Unlike most roasteries, this Upper Laurel roastery crafts coffee in small batches to ensure that the beans you get are always fresh. Noted as a great community gathering space, you can sip on your coffee or grab a bag to enjoy in the office or at home.  No matter which option you choose, you’ll be happy with your decision. Located at 4100 MacArthur Boulvard, Oakland.

Tierra Mia Coffee

Some add an extra shot of espresso, but why not add a shot of culture. At Tierra Mia Coffee, they serve up coffee inspired by Latino flavors. From the Horchata Frappe to Tres Leches Muffins and even a Mojito Mint Tea Lemonade you’ll be able to taste the uniqueness and diversity in everything on their menu. The Oakland location is at 2001 Broadway Street, just between 21st and 20th Streets.

Sweet Maria’s Coffee Warehouse

Sweet Maria’s Coffee Warehouse is devoted to providing perfectly roasted, green coffee. Coffee beans are ethically sourced from Ethiopia, Guatemala, Columbia and Brazil, to name a few. Not only do they roast their own beans, but they also welcome the chance to share their wealth of knowledge if you are interested in roasting your own coffee at home. Their website also contains plenty of information to get you started, hone your craft and do everything in between.

Where will you be grabbing your next cup of coffee?
